LO2 - Be able to use appropriate software to create a banner for your blog
In today's lesson you will create a banner to go at the top of your blog, the banner should make your blog look appealing to people visiting as well as telling them something about yourself.
You will also be looking at different graphics software and identifying the advantages and disadvantages of each.
Task 1 - Create a banner for your blog
- In this lesson you will create a banner to go at the top of your blog
- You have a choice of how you will do this
- Choice 1 - Use specialist graphics software Abobe Fireworks or Adobe Photoshop to create your banner
- Choice 2 - Use online graphics software to create your banner.
- Step 1 - Go to www.picmonkey.com
- Step 2 - Create a collage using PicMonkey and then save it in your ICT folder
- Step 3 - Click on Edit a photo and upload the collage you made in step 2. You will now be able to add text and effects to it
- Step 4 - save your final banner to your ICT folder
Task 2 - Add the Banner to your Blog
- Log into your blog
- Go to the layout menu and edit the header gadget
- You should now be able to upload your banner
- View blog to check it works
