#9n5 Creating Your Game

BUILD IT - Development

Start to build your game using your designs to help you. Use a development log to record problems, outcomes of functionality and usability testing, and actions taken.

Create a development log. You should update it regularly during development.

Test each part of your game as you develop it.

Ask game testers to play a prototype of your game and give you feedback.

Save the final version of your game.

By now you should have:

  • Completed a game overview
  • Created your moodboard
  • Created your storyboard designs for the game
  •  Created a rules log for the game
  • Created an assets table. Ensure that you keep it up-to-date throughout the project.

In today's lesson you should be working on your game:

  • Creating your game screens using Fireworks or Photoshop
    • Menu Screen
    • Instruction Screen
    • Story Screen
    • Win Screen
    • Lose Screen
  • Adding your screens into your game
  • Making buttons in your game
  • Creating your characters using Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Fireworks
  • Adding your characters into your game
  • Creating new levels for your game
TOP TIP: MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR DEVELOPMENT LOG AND ASSETS TABLE OPEN AND ARE FILLING THEM IN EVERY LESSON
