LO1 - To understand what digital sign age is so that you can develop a digital advert to promote your take away shop



Starter 10mins



What is digital signage? Use your internet research skills to find out and then write a post on your blog about it

Extension: Add some example images of food related digital signage to your post




Main 45mins


You must produce a digital advert for the healthy meals on sale. It will be shown on a large screen in the shop window.
The advert must scroll continuously and include:

  • a title screen
  • a screen encouraging healthy eating
  • a screen showing the packaging in use
  • a final promotional screen with a special offer
  • appropriate text
  • suitable images

For 1 mark, a student may have needed guidance, but must have produced some

of the graphic products, demonstrating limited awareness of audience and

purpose.



For 3 marks, a student must have produced a complete set of graphic products.

Each product must:

• be suitable for the specified medium

• meet most of the specified requirements
• use some appropriate combinations of elements.
Students must have commented on some aspects of their designs and given some
indication of what each product would look like.
The set of products must demonstrate some awareness of audience and purpose.




For 5 marks, a student must have produced complete set of graphic products.

Each product must:

• be suitable for the specified medium
• meet most of the specified requirements
• use appropriate combinations of elements.
Students must have commented on the design decisions for each product and
shown what each product would look like.
The set of products must demonstrate good awareness of audience and purpose
and an understanding of legal requirements.

      

For 7 marks, a student must have produced complete set of graphic products.

Each product must:

• be suitable for the specified medium

• meet the specified requirements
• use effective combinations of elements.
Students must have commented on the design decisions for each product and
shown clearly what each product would look like.
The set of products must demonstrate sound awareness of audience and purpose.
and an understanding of legal requirements.

Task 2 15 mins

  • On page 23 of your booklet draw designs for each of the 4 screens for your digital advert
    • Screen1 - a title screen
    • Screen2 - a screen encouraging healthy eating
    • Screen3 - a screen showing the packaging in use
    • Screen4 - a final promotional screen with a special offer

Task 3 20 mins

  • Using appropriate software (Fireworks, Flash, After Effects) begin creating your digital advert on the computer
  • Make sure that you save your work in the PRODUCTS folder
