LO1 - To understand what makes an effective video game character so that you can develop one of your own

Starter


  • On your blog post what you need to do for your character in today's lesson


Task 1 - Create your own video game character

  • INDEPENDENT ENQUIRERS - Choose suitable graphics software (Adobe Fireworks / Photoshop / Illustrator) to work with in today's lesson



  • TOP TIP - Make sure that you use a square canvas when you make your character - this will make things easier when you load it into GameMaker


  • CREATIVE THINKERS - Using your graphic skills create a character for your game. Think about the key points we discussed at the start of the lesson

Task 2 - Add your character into the game


  • Load your new character over the top of the old princess one - make sure that it is 32x32 

  • Test your game - does your character appear in it now?

Extension Task:

  • use the skills that you have learnt to create some new sprites

  • Update your blog post to tell me what your learnt in today's lesson and what you think you need to next with your game
