#10m1 Developing Your Game



  • LO1 - To evaluate your game against the moderators criteria
  • LO2 - To develop your game to meet the SPB criteria



  • Paste these questions into a new post on your blog
    • Is the game enjoyable? 
    • Is the game long enough? 
    • Are there enough levels to keep the player interested? 
    • Are the different levels sufficiently challenging? 
    • Are the controls easy to use and are they intuitive? 
    • Does the player know what to do and how to win? 
    • Does the game start easy and then become progressively more difficult? 
    • Would the player want to play the game again? 
    • Does the game give feedback as to how well the player is doing? (Health bars, lives, score etc.) 
    • Does the game look aesthetically pleasing?



  • Answer the questions - give reasons for your answers

  • Continue to develop your game. You must complete all tasks on the list below:-

    1 Create the background screens in Adobe Fireworks or Illustrator

    2 Create a working game using GameMaker 
    - Working menu screen

    3 Put your own sprites into the game
    - Added your own main character sprite into the game 
    - Changed all other sprites in the game to your own 
    4 Added your own favicon 
    5 Added your own loading screen 
    6 Created working levels for your game 
    - Working level one screen 
    - Working level two screen 
    - Working level three screen 
    7 Added your own sound effects to the game 
    8 Added your own music to the game 
    9 Create an exe file of the game
    10  Link exe file on website 
    11 Make sure all images & sounds are recorded in your assets table 
    12 Development log fully filled in

    1. Create an instruction manual for your game
    2. Add new levels into your game
    3. Add different types of game play into your new levels
    4. Can you allow players to save and load games
